When I was on MTM Records touring as recording artist, I used to dread interviews before shows. I noticed it negatively affected my singing voice to do a lot of talking before I sang, so whenever possible, I scheduled them for after my performance. Now, after discovering and applying proper vocal techniques to my speaking voice, I can talk all day and my voice never gets tired. So can you!
When you speak, your voice speaks in ways that go beyond words. Your accent may give away your national or regional origin. Your tone of voice will tell people whether you feel elated or sad, excited or bored... Through verbal communication, people learn about your thoughts, ideas, products, and services. Through non-verbal communication, they learn about your feelings.
Attractive tone is the result of consistent vowel sounds. The more focused the vowel, the more attractive it can be... There are 6 basic vowel sounds used in the English language: ee, eh, ah, oh, oo and er (as in her). These vowels have their individual tonal characteristic with ee being brightest and oo being darkest. As we speak, our tone fluctuate between bright and dark, depending on the vowel sounds of the words. This fluctuation can be distracting because they naturally sound louder or softer.
